Timothy Alan "Tim" Clippard, 51, of Jackson passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, in Marshall County, Ky.

He was an avid bass fisherman and was competing in the first day of the Angler's Choice Bass Tournament on Kentucky Lake when a tragic boating accident took his life.

Tim was born Dec. 28, 1961, in Cape Girardeau. He was a 1980 graduate of Jackson High School. In 1985, he graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor of science degree in industrial technology.

He and Carla Voges were married Oct. 26, 1985, in Jackson. They were blessed with two children.

He was a 31-year employee of United Parcel Service in Scott City, and was a well known and much appreciated delivery driver. In 2012, he was awarded recognition for 30 years of service.

He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and served on various committees.

Loving survivors include his wife of 27 years, Carla of Jackson; two children, Luke A. and Laurie J. Clippard of Jackson; his mother, Betty (the late Bud) Cord of Jackson; three siblings, David (Suzanna) Clippard of Richmond, Va., Elaine (Wally) Dworaczyk of Houston and Dean (Renea) Clippard of Frisco, Texas; father- and mother-in-law, Robert and Vera Voges of Jackson; brother-in-law, Ricky Voges of Jackson; and many other extended family members.

Tim was loved and respected by all. His dedication and loyalty to his family and friends made him a truly special person. His friendly personality was contagious to everyone who crossed his path. He may have been taken from this earth but his memories will live forever.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with Dr. David Clippard officiating. Committal will be at a later date.

Arrangements by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the First Baptist Church in Jackson, the Nolan Weber Cancer Fund, St. Jude's Chilcren's Research Hospital or a church or charity of donor's choice.
