COBDEN, Ill. -- Timothy Free Yates, 38, of Cobden, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 1995, following an extended illness.

He was born Nov. 28, 1956, in Detroit, Mich., son of Joseph Highland and Neda M. Wilder Yates. He and Deborah Spiller were married Jan. 12, 1995, in Paducah, Ky.

Yates was a first mate with Ingram Barge Co. in Paducah.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Heather Yates of Detroit; a son, Timothy Yates II of Detroit; four stepchildren, John and Sarah Wingate and Jimmy and Jason Sensat of Cobden; his mother of Cobden; a brother, Larry Yates of Cobden; three sisters, Susan Yates of Las Vegas, Nev., Maryann Yates of Cobden and Lori Albers of Alto Pass.

There is no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden, with the Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating.
