Trace Edward Cashion, 53, of Farmington, Mo., formerly of Cape Girardeau, ascended into Heaven Wednesday, May 8, 2013.
He was born Aug. 25, 1959, in Cape Girardeau, son of Henry Yount and Ruth Ann Scherer Cashion Jr.
Trace graduated in 1978 from Farmington High School, where he played football and participated in wrestling. He was a very humble man with a passion for helping people.
Christ was his foundation, and he was a spiritual mentor to many. He was a true Christian who loved to praise and worship God in every way with all of his heart. Next to God, the love for his family was his top priority.
Survivors include the love of his life, his wife of 28 years, Tina Bequette Cashion; his beloved children, Crystal Cashion, Joshua Cashion, Gerald "Jay" Pevey and wife Julie and Trey Pevey; a granddaughter, Madilyn Ann Pevey; his parents, Ruth Ann Cashion and Henry Cashion Jr. and wife Sandra; three brothers, Perry (Diana Anderson) Cashion, Chuck (Brenda) Cashion and Mark (Maria) Cashion.
The funeral was May 11 at New Beginnings Worship Centre in Farmington, with the Revs. Tim Morgan and Darlene Williams officiating. Interment was in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Farmington.
Cozean Memorial Chapel and Crematory in Farmington was in charge of arrangements.
