Troy Dean Strom Sr., 59, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born June 16, 1962, in Cape Girardeau to Ted and Millie Schlegel Strom.

He served in the United States Navy.

Troy was the former owner and operator of Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery. He was a special education teacher at Cape Girardeau Central High School.

He loved riding motorcycles and was an avid hunter. He loved and adored his grandchildren.

Troy was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, where he was active in the music ministry.

Survivors include two daughters, Shelby (Trevor) Allee of Jackson and Bridgit Strom of Jackson; a son, Troy (Sarah) Strom II of Burfordville; mother, Millie Strom of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Bonnie Cochran of Cape Girardeau, Jennifer (Dr. Ben) Freudenburg of Michigan and Carol Berrong of Texas; four grandchildren, Carter Allee, Eloise Allee, Milo Allee and Emma Reed.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Arrangements have changed and visitation will now be 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday at Centenary United Methodist Church.

Funeral service will follow at noon at the church with Pastor Sarah Freudenburg officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
