JACKSON -- Truman Clippard, 85, of Jackson died Wednesday, March 10, 1993, at his home. He was born May 7, 1907 at Oak Ridge, the son of Brown Clippard and Cora Hartle Clippard. On June 25, 1927, he married the former Ellen Abernathy. She survives. JACKSON -- Truman Clippard, 85, of Jackson died Wednesday, March 10, 1993, at his home.

He was born May 7, 1907 at Oak Ridge, the son of Brown Clippard and Cora Hartle Clippard.

On June 25, 1927, he married the former Ellen Abernathy. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Eugene Clippard, Colorado Springs, Colo., Bob Clippard, Jackson; one brother, Fred Clippard, Jackson; four sisters, Beulah Stewart, St. Louis, Mildred Smith, Jackson, Lucy Medley, Cape Girardeau, Esther Clodfelter, Pevely; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one step-grandson.

Four brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson and had moved to Jackson in 1950 from Oak Ridge.

He worked for Albert Sander Hardware in Jackson, Landgraf Lumber Co. in Cape and in 1964 became a self-employed plumber. He retired in 1970.

Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. David Clippard officiating and the Rev. William Ellis assisting. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
