PUXICO -- Funeral service for Truman Noel Hartz of Norfolk, Va., was held Dec. 29 at Smith and Williams Funeral Home in Norfolk. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Hartz, 80, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1993, in a Norfolk hospital.
He was born Oct. 9, 1913, in Acorn Ridge, son of Melvin and Ellen Potter Hartz. He married the former Amalee Daniels.
A retired warrant officer, Hartz served 42 years combined service with the U.S. Navy and as an electronics instructor with the Civil Service. He was a member of Puxico Masonic Lodge 596, life member of Retired Officers Association, and Fleet Reserve Association 5.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Charles Hartz of Virginia Beach, Va., Thomas Hartz of Norfolk, Daniel Hartz of Springfield, Va.; three brothers, Edwin Hartz of Tallahassee, Fla., John Hartz of St. Joseph, Oliver Hartz of Puxico; 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
