BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral service for Velma Maxine Johnson of Bloomfield will be held at 2 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery at Dexter.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until service time.
Johnson, 57, died Friday, Aug. 15, 1997, at the home of a son.
She was born Nov. 6, 1939, in Corning, Ark., daughter of Guy and Flossie May Jones Corbin. She and Jerry Johnson were married Aug. 30, 1958.
Formerly of Dexter, Bell City, and Essex, she had lived in Bloomfield three years.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Johnson of Bloomfield; a daughter, Kimberly Sherfield of Essex; three sisters, Helen Triplett of Dexter, Hazel Riddel of Malden, Dorothy Jenkins of Alaska; and seven grandchildren.
