JONESBORO, Ill. -- Velma Sadler, 85, of Buncombe, Ill., died Friday, Jan. 8, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born July 13, 1907 in Jonesboro, the daughter of Fredrick and Lilly Belcher Wildy. She married Irvin Sadler on Aug. 9, 1924. He died on July 4, 1970...

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Velma Sadler, 85, of Buncombe, Ill., died Friday, Jan. 8, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 13, 1907 in Jonesboro, the daughter of Fredrick and Lilly Belcher Wildy.

She married Irvin Sadler on Aug. 9, 1924. He died on July 4, 1970.

She was a homemaker and a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.

Surviving are nine sons, Clifford and Irval Sadler, both of Jonesboro, William Sadler of Caseyville, Ill., Joe, Larry, Jerry and Eddy Sadler, all of Anna, Ill., Daniel Sadler of Dongola, Ill., and Paul Sadler of Golconda, Ill.; six daughters, Freda Purcell of Detroit, Barbara McCarver of Buncombe, Lois Cruse of Cobden, Ill., Judy Dillow of Anna, Joan Peterman of Bloomington, Ill., and Linda Osman of Cypress, Ill.; one brother, Roy Wildy of Jonesboro; 39 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son and one daughter.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Norris and Son Funeral Home in Jonesboro.

Funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dean West officiating. Burial will be in the Casper Cemetery near Anna.
