Vera Lohmann, 83, of Scott City died Monday, March 15, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born June 26, 1926, in Illmo, Mo., to David and Amelia Sander Held. She married Fred Smith, who preceded her in death in 1962. She later married Elmer Lohmann on March 8, 1967. He died March 12, 2009...

Vera Lohmann, 83, of Scott City died Monday, March 15, 2010, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 26, 1926, in Illmo, Mo., to David and Amelia Sander Held. She married Fred Smith, who preceded her in death in 1962. She later married Elmer Lohmann on March 8, 1967. He died March 12, 2009.

Lohmann was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City.

Survivors include two sons, Joe (Joyce) Smith and Roger (Glenda) Smith of Scott City; a sister, Marie Burger of Scott City; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and a great-great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Barry Pfanstiel officiating. Burial will be in Eisleben Cemetery.
