Vera Lohmann, 95, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 29, 1921, in Kelso, Missouri, to the late Killian and Frances (Ziegler) Felter.
She was married to Clarence Anton Lohmann on Nov. 18, 1939. He passed away Oct. 12, 2008.
Vera was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and participated proudly in Cursillo and Marriage Encounter. She was also a former eucharistic minister at church and for the Fountainbleau Lodge.
She was a charter member of the Saint Francis Hospital Auxiliary and for the Perpetual Help Mission Club. She also served on the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, belonged to the St. Vincent's Quilting Guild and Ladies Council and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She worked at Lohmann Supply Company, Montgomery Ward and Zickfield Jewelry of Cape Girardeau. She was a very loving mother and grandmother and friend to all.
Her surviving family consists of a son, Dan (Tamara) Lohmann of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Jane Lohmann of Houston, Texas; grandson, Kirk (Ashley) Lohmann of Austin, Texas; brother, Charles (Verena) Felter; and sister, Florence (Billie) Lewis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth Lohmann; husband, Clarence Lohmann; sister, Dorris Young, and brother, Paul Felter.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the rosary.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
