JACKSON -- Vernon Carl Ladreiter, 83, of Jackson, died Monday, Aug. 18, 1996, at his home. He was born Feb. 24, 1913, in Nezperce, Idaho, son of Earnst and Hattie Gerharter Ladreiter. He and Trula Blaylock were married Sept. 14, 1934, at Jackson. Ladreiter was a 1931 graduate of Jackson High School. He had worked in the service station business 40 years, including Phillips 66 two years; Mobil Gas from 1933-1970 including a 10-year partnership, and 1970-75 at a Sinclair Station...

JACKSON -- Vernon Carl Ladreiter, 83, of Jackson, died Monday, Aug. 18, 1996, at his home.

He was born Feb. 24, 1913, in Nezperce, Idaho, son of Earnst and Hattie Gerharter Ladreiter. He and Trula Blaylock were married Sept. 14, 1934, at Jackson.

Ladreiter was a 1931 graduate of Jackson High School. He had worked in the service station business 40 years, including Phillips 66 two years; Mobil Gas from 1933-1970 including a 10-year partnership, and 1970-75 at a Sinclair Station.

He joined the Volunteer Fire Department in 1934, and served as chief from 1959-75.

Ladreiter was a past president and secretary-treasurer of Retail Merchants and Evening Optimist Club, past chairman of Jackson Horse Show, member of Chamber of Commerce and served on the Industrial Board. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and its Men's Club and served on various committees.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rodney Ladreiter of Jackson, Terry Ladreiter of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Mildred Hanschen of Jackson; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. O. David Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
