MINER -- Victor A. Miles, 77, of Miner died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 24, 1921, in Pocahontas, Ark., son of Elbert J. and Mary J. Hausmann Miles. He married the former Emolene Earnest.
Miles worked for the U.S. Postal Service 30 years, and had also farmed. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jim Miles of Erin, Tenn., Alan Miles of Sikeston; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. Sunday. A prayer service will be held at 7:30.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Church. The Rev. Robert Schumacher will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
