SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Viola Thomas of Thornton, Colo., will be held at 2 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Mike Quillman will officiate, with burial in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at Morley.
Thomas, 88, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 1997, at Elm Haven Care Center in Thornton.
She was born Dec. 17, 1908, in Lamar, Ark., daughter of E.H. and Sarah Ellen Harris Thomas.
Thomas was a finisher at a pottery factory. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Thompson of Thornton; a brother, W.H. Thomas of Cahokia, Ill.; three sisters, Ruth Powell of Morrilton, Ark., Jean Holland of Sikeston, Helen Freeman of Benton; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and a grandchild.
