Virginia G. Lakemeyer, 69, of Chesterfield, Mo., died Monday, Nov. 20, 2006.
She was the daughter of the late Richard and Margaret Bain Giles.
She studied music in Paris under a Rotary Fellowship, and earned a master's degree in music education at Washington University in St. Louis.
Mrs. Lakemeyer was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Colonists and Delta Delta Delta. She was a member of Bonhomme Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder, Stephen Ministry leader and coordinator, Congregational Care Ministry chairman, member of Church Nomination Committee and Associate Pastor's Nomination Committee, and sang in the Bell Choir.
Her accomplishments are numerous, but most importantly she was a beautiful person to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband, James L. Lakemeyer; three daughters, Laura (Toby) Ludvigson, Leslie (Michael) Etheridge Lakemeyer, Leigh Lakemeyer, all of Chesterfield; three brothers, Richard (Gail), Thomas (Mary), and David (Joetta) Giles, all of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Jordan and Jacob Ledvigson; Nathan, Lucas and Katherine Etheridge; a sister-in-law, Betty (the late Arnold) Lakemeyer; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at O'Sullivan Muckle Mortuary in Chesterfield.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bonhomme Presbyterian Church in Chesterfield. Interment will be in Forever Bellerive Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
