Virginia C. Todd, 53, of Jackson died Sunday, May 24, 2009, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born March 27, 1956, in St. Louis, daughter of Donald Robert and Virginia Charlotte Mensinger Adams. She and Dennis J. Todd were married Sept. 9, 1978, in St. Louis County.

Todd was a graduate of Mehl­ville High School in South St. Louis County and received an associate of applied science degree in computer science from Southeast Missouri State University in 1977. She was currently a systems coordinator at Saint Francis Medical Center, where she had been employed more than 18 years.

She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ. Todd was also a Boy Scout volunteer with the Shawnee District of the Greater St. Louis Council, serving the district and council in many capacities.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis J. Todd of Jackson; parents, Donald and Virginia Adams of St. Louis County; son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas J. and Lesley Todd of Jackson; sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Ray Rath of St. Peters, Mo.; and a grandson, Alexander J. Todd.

Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Entombment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Boy Scouts of America Greater St. Louis Council.
