BERNIE -- Walter Edward "Bus" Jewett, 80, of Bernie died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born on March 25, 1918, son of Edward Vance and Estella May Miller Jewett. He was born on March 25, 1918, son of Edward Vance and Estella May Miller Jewett.
He was a construction worker and a member of the Bernie United Methodist Church.
He married Maxine Hampton on Nov. 16, 1941.

Survivors include his wife of the home; a daughter, Barbara Ann Lillard of Chesapeake, Va.; a sister, Christine Merick of Catron; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Friends may call at the Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel.
The Revs. John Adams and Susan Marner-Sides will officiate. Burial will follow in the Malden Memorial Park Cemetery.
