WALTER W. DAVIS
DEXTER -- Walter William Davis, 68, of Dexter, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 1995, at Dexter Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 14, 1926, at Bernie, son of George Washington and Erma Bell Woods Davis. He and Wanda Lee Taylor were married at Morehouse. She died in 1965...DEXTER -- Walter William Davis, 68, of Dexter, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 1995, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 14, 1926, at Bernie, son of George Washington and Erma Bell Woods Davis. He and Wanda Lee Taylor were married at Morehouse. She died in 1965.
Davis moved to Dexter 10 years ago from Indianapolis, Ind.

Survivors include two sons, David Davis of Reyno, Ark., Walter Davis of Indianapolis; two daughters, Carol Whitchurch of Poplar Bluff, Joann Vangilder of Sikeston; his mother of Dexter; five brothers, Luther and Jeff Davis of Festus, Edsel Davis of Indianapolis, Charles Davis of Little Rock, Ark., Donald Davis of Omaha, Neb.; two sisters, Gloretta Magee and Irene Wilson of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and four stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two daughters, three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter after 6 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Vyron Yount officiating. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery.
