Wanda L. Roberts, 85, passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, at her home in Jackson. She was born July 15, 1936, in Cape Girardeau to Edward and Eva Choate Henson. She and Lloyd A. "Lefty" Roberts were married July 7, 1956, at the parsonage of Red Star Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. Two children were born to their union, Terri and Dan. Wanda L. Roberts, 85, passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, at her home in Jackson.

She was born July 15, 1936, in Cape Girardeau to Edward and Eva Choate Henson. She and Lloyd A. "Lefty" Roberts were married July 7, 1956, at the parsonage of Red Star Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. Two children were born to their union, Terri and Dan. They had been married 63 years when Lefty passed away Sept. 26, 2019.

Wanda was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. Her employment included Rigdon's Laundry and Cape Osteopathic Hospital, both in Cape Girardeau.

Wanda was faithful to her Lord through Christian service. She was a member of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Jackson and a former member of Bethany Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school in the junior department and serving as a Girls in Action and vacation Bible school leader.

Loving survivors include two children, Terri (Lee) Baker of Cape Girardeau and Dan (Karen) Roberts of Millersville; two grandchildren, Robert Arlan Flannery and Chance Joe Dalton Roberts; and a great-grandchild, Rees LaRae Flannery.

She was preceded in death her husband and her parents.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating. Burial will follow at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorial donations to Shawnee Hills Baptist Church or Crown Hospice.
