Memorial service for Wealta Hunt, 2852 Independence, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Johnny Thomas will officiate, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.

There is no visitation.

Hunt, 62, died Monday, Sept. 23, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 15, 1933, in New Albany, Miss., daughter of Lawrence and Susy Geary Hunt.

Hunt was self-employed in domestic work, and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include a sister, Hattie Smith of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
