Weldon Ellis Crook, 72, of Scott City died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2019, at his home.

He was born April 1, 1947, in Reverie, Tennessee, to Nathan Andrew and Margie Owens Crook. He married Janice Grogan on April 18, 1971, in Salem, Missouri. She preceded him in death March 17, 1996. He later married Ruthanne Hoelting on May 1, 1999, in Scott City.

He was a certified blaster for Tower Rock and Stone. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Ruthanne; daughters, Michele (Ken) Carmode of Dexter, Missouri, and Angela (Matt) Clover of Jackson; and grandchildren, Tyson, Addison and Drake.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeremy Sells officiating. Burial, with fully military honors, will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
