Wes was honorably discharged from his service in the United States Air Force and subsequently began his career with IBM. His eventual retirement gave him more time to pursue his interests of woodworking, card playing and visiting his grandchildren. Wes will be remembered for his incredible skill and humor around the card table.

An important part of Wes's life was his Christian faith. Upon moving to Cape Girardeau in 1963, he joined St. Andrew Lutheran Church and has actively participated in many ministries throughout the years. He shared his faith with his children and grandchildren who hold tight to the knowledge of being reunited with him one day.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Entombment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum. Military rites will be provided by Missouri Honors Team.

Wes never met a baby that didn't capture his heart. To celebrate that love, memorial donations can be made to Lutheran Family & Children Services, 3178 Blattner Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63703, or through its website www.lfcsmo.org.

Online condolences may be made at www.fordandsonsfuneralhome.com.
