Wesley O. Tranter, 75, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at his home. He was born March 5, 1941, in St. Louis, the son of John and Arlene Spiess Tranter. He and Babs Wallace were married May 30, 1964, in Phoenix. Wesley worked until retirement as a pipefitter/welder with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562. Wesley O. Tranter, 75, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at his home.

He was born March 5, 1941, in St. Louis, the son of John and Arlene Spiess Tranter. He and Babs Wallace were married May 30, 1964, in Phoenix.

Wesley worked until retirement as a pipefitter/welder with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 562. He had a deep passion for music and enjoyed playing the guitar.

He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Navy football fan. Most of all, Wesley enjoyed his children and grandchildren.

Loving survivors include his wife of 52 years, Babs; a son, Kent Tranter and his wife Margene of Chesapeake, Virginia; and a daughter, Kristin Johnston and her husband Walter of Jackson.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Evan, Braden and Graysen Johnston and Jackson, Sawyer and Sadie Tranter.

He was preceded in death by his parents. A private family service is planned.
