William Owen Brasher, 76, of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., died Sunday, Aug. 4, 1996, in Horseshoe Bend.
He was born March 16, 1920, at Morley, son of Jesse Owen and Viola Nanney Brasher. He married the former Margaret A. Thacker.
Brasher served in the U.S. Navy from 1938-58, retiring as chief. He later worked at Arkansas Best Freight in Cape Girardeau.
He was a member of Fleet Reserve Association in Little Rock, Ark., VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau, and Eagles Aerie in Horseshoe Bend.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mary Williford of Columbia, Sharon Brasher of Garland, Texas; a sister, Vonda Allen of Cape Girardeau, and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
