OAK RIDGE -- Wilma Irene Bogenpohl, 91, of Oak Ridge, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2006, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson.

She was born Oct. 30, 1914, in Friedheim, daughter of Henry and Docilla Sauer Oehl. She and William H. "Bill" Bogenpohl were married Feb. 16, 1941, in Jackson.

Wilma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Friedheim and a member of the Ladies Aid at the church. She was also a member of the former Arnsberg Homemakers Club and the former Ladies Auxiliary for the North Cape County Volunteer Fire Department. She served as a committeewoman and an election official of Appleton Township. She also drove a school bus many years for the former Trinity Lutheran School at Friedheim.

Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years; two sons, Leonard (Sharon) Bogenpohl and Gary (Janet) Bogenpohl, all of Oak Ridge; five grandchildren, David Bogenpohl, Sheri (Jody) Ponder, Terry Bogenpohl, Jeff Bogenpohl and Chad (Andrea) Bogenpohl; two great-grandsons, Devin Ponder and Alec Bogenpohl; two brothers, Marlen (Lorene) Oehl of Oak Ridge, Richard (June) Oehl of Friedheim; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Oehl of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Rohde and a brother, Howard Oehl.

Friends may call Tuesday, May 30, 2006, between 4 and 8 p.m. at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson and after 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 31 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim.

Funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Walter Patwitz officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the Southeast Hospice.
