To the editor:
I believe a few folks have gone bonkers over the new gun law. I have lived in several of the states where it is working. Law-abiding citizens get the required training and pass the training and background check. Then they are eligible for a permit. It's not like going to a store and buying a hunting or fishing license.
It looks like our city leaders are going to pass a ordinance that prohibits citizens of this great state who have taken the time and effort to be properly trained and permitted to carry a fire arm from doing so in city buildings. I hope the leaders of this city keep in mind that the law-abiding, trained and permitted citizen is not whom they should be worrying about. The criminal will always have a weapon no matter how many ordinances the city passes. Think about it.
