To mark the anniversary, the Historical Association of Greater Cape Girardeau is holding several "Downton Abbey"-themed dinners, showcasing the home and sharing about the group's capital campaign of $130,000. Tom Grantham, president of the Historical Association, recently told the Southeast Missourian the dinner series is sold out, but others may be held in the future.

On Saturday, a birthday party will be held for the house. The festivities begin at 1 p.m. In addition to tours, there will be photos and memorabilia on display. A group of Southeast Missouri State University students will be in period dress and share games from that time period with children. The group is called the History Alive Living History Interpretive Group. Additionally, there will be live music and a cake-cutting ceremony.

Admission for Saturday's party is $2.50 for adults and $1 for children.

The Glenn House is an important part of Cape Girardeau's history. Thanks to all those who have helped maintain it, preserving the house for the community to enjoy. Saturday's party looks to be a fun opportunity to see the house and celebrate an important milestone. We hope you consider attending.
