To the editor:

There is a resolution in the Missouri House opposing biosphere reserve designations in Missouri. The bill also opposes the American Heritage Rivers Initiative. It also opposes another attempt to get around congressional approval of the National Conservation Buffers Initiative. The resolution, House Concurrent Resolution 18, is sponsored by state Rep. Larry Crawford. It is in committee and needs our letters and phone calls to other state representatives and county commissioners requesting their support of this extremely important resolution.

State Rep. Kelly Parker has introduced a similar resolution, HCR 14, opposing ratification of the U.N. Global Climate Treaty. As you can see, this is a bipartisan effort to protect the rights of the people of Missouri. We must support these people in their efforts.
