To the editor:
People in general like to speak their minds. Some feel bitterness, some gratitude and some just like to express an opinion. That's life. People are all different.
Just within the past several weeks, two remarks have appeared in Speak Out regarding the picture of Rush Limbaugh on the Wall of Fame in downtown Cape Girardeau.
It is natural for one to feel a resentment about somebody or something at one time or another. Wouldn't it be better, though, if we could erase that part that is distasteful and cling to the good points a person possesses?
Sometimes people who make the strongest remarks have the warmest hearts. I find that to be true of Rush Limbaugh. Although it appears to some to be hidden, it is there.
One day in talking among a group of friends, the subject of Rush Limbaugh entered our conversation. Not knowing him personally, I was pleased to learn of his wide border of friends and his admirers. I learned of his generosity, his compassion and his ability to really care.
There is warmth in his heart in spite of his outbursts that often cause him to be wrongly judged.
Rush Limbaugh has written a number of books that are much in demand. His intelligence and respect far exceed his criticism.
At no time within his power would he let a person go uncared for.
I like strong family ties, and that is what Rush Limbaugh has. How much better a world this would be if that existed among everyone.
Never has Cape Girardeau been honored with such a prominent and widely known young man as Rush Limbaugh.
Shouldn't we then feel a great pride in him always?
