Last Saturday my family had the sad honor of attending my Uncle Virgil's funeral. However, you folks made our day a bit brighter by an amazing display of respect. As my sisters and I rode from the funeral home to the church and again from the church to the cemetery, we were astounded and touched. No matter what road we traveled, two-lane or four-lane, motorists were pulled over with their headlights on, waiting patiently as the procession passed...

As my sisters and I rode from the funeral home to the church and again from the church to the cemetery, we were astounded and touched. There was no way all those motorists could know who they honored. They just knew to show respect for a human passing. It's heartening to know that in these days grace and manners still exist. The people of Cape Girardeau should be proud.
