After reading State Rep Holly Rehder's latest comments in the paper, I am disappointed. I shouldn't be. I should know by now how she is willing to overlook the interests of SEMO voters when it comes to labor issues. Rehder is misleading readers when she says, "Labor reform is still on the top of my list," and says she is "for employees' freedom." What she's really doing is pushing laws that would make us less free but reward the CEOs who demand tax breaks while shipping jobs out of Missouri...

After reading State Rep Holly Rehder's latest comments in the paper, I am disappointed. I shouldn't be. I should know by now how she is willing to overlook the interests of SEMO voters when it comes to labor issues.

Rehder is misleading readers when she says, "Labor reform is still on the top of my list," and says she is "for employees' freedom." What she's really doing is pushing laws that would make us less free but reward the CEOs who demand tax breaks while shipping jobs out of Missouri.

I'm a union member, and I work hard every day for a local employer in return for decent pay and benefits. I'm able to proudly support my local economy as a middle-class working taxpayer, while my employer remains profitable. When I spend my wages at the grocery store, take my family out to breakfast at the local restaurant in town or go to the movies, this generates revenue that creates jobs

It's not voters here who want these laws. When paycheck deception came up at a hearing last year, the only person to testify in favor was the sponsor, Rep. Rehder. Rep. Rehder should work in Jefferson City for you and me, not pushing an agenda for campaign donors who don't even live or work here.

Without a doubt, Rep. Rehder's filing of these bills is an attempt to undermine the ability of her constituents and all Missourians to support their families with a job that makes a decent wage.
