The Kenny Rogers Children's Center in Sikeston helps 300 children with all kinds of special needs -- at no cost to families. The center's funding comes from a variety of sources, including the annual concert featuring the center's namesake, a country-music legend. This year's concert is set for June 24 at the Sikeston Field House.

Of special note is the opening act for the concert: Sikeston's own Neal E. Boyd, last year's winner of the "America's Got Talent" competition. This will be a special opportunity for concertgoers to see and hear Boyd, whose performances have been professionally polished.
