The 145th SEMO District Fair kicked off this weekend at Arena Park in Cape Girardeau, continuing a tradition that seems to get better each year. And this year's fair events include several new features. Livestock judging, craft and hobby entries, flowers and vegetables, baby contests, tractor pulls, the fabulous midway and big-name entertainment are just a few of the things that will keep fairgoers busy until the fair closes next Saturday...

Did we mention food? Experienced fairgoers are familiar with the tasty delights that await them at the fair, and the good food is reason enough for newcomers to make a visit. Dozens or organizations will be raising money for great causes with their food booths.
