Mascot intolerance

IT'S TIME to practice what you preach: tolerance. Those who are offended by Southeast Missouri State University using the name "Indian" are not practicing tolerance and not celebrating diversity. The word has different meanings to different people. So have respect for the opinion of others. Please be tolerant when it is used to represent something of honor, respect and bravery. If you are offended, you are being intolerant.

Promoting the Indians

DID YOU know the Southeast Missouri State University Web site for submitting nickname and mascot suggestions is screening out any suggestion to keep the name "Indians"? Don't let this stop you. If you want the name to stay the same, send in that suggestion. It may not be posted online, but the committee will see the responses -- we hope. Go, Indians!
