** Handrails, please

The coming renovation of the Show Me Center should definitely include handrails going up the steps inside. A number of fans have fallen, and a group of older fans simply no longer attend activities because of this. Arenas all over the country that you see on TV have rails, which could protect the school from a possible lawsuit.

** Football, Jesus

Those of us who profess to be Christians should choose today whom we worship: God or football.

** Priorities

Now that conservatives will have a majority in the U.S. House and the Senate, we need to all contact our senators and representatives and let them know that we expect them to fight for our conservative principles, such as secure our borders, get the economy moving, cut government waste and fight terrorism. Their job is not to debate abortion, women's rights, same-sex marriage or to fund the stupid and irrelevant research projects.

** Gas in Cape

Hi, I live in Cape, and I just went on a trip to St. Louis. And I'm amazed at what the pricing of gas is. It's $2.71, $2.72 here in Jackson as I'm traveling through, and $2.72, $2.75 in Cape. But it's $2.59 in Perryville. Thirty miles away, it's 15 or 20 cents cheaper everywhere. So that just tells you how much profit each station in Jackson and Cape are making off this. Hopefully Jackson and Cape will bring theirs down. Because every time I go that way, I'll be filling up at Perryville from now on, I can tell you.

** Ferguson

That mob mentality in Ferguson only has Michael Brown's ignorance to blame for his death. Put the responsibility where the responsibility belongs and accept it. Pick yourself up and act like human beings.

** No-call

A word to the wise. I am on the no-call list. So, politicians, telemarketers and all you survey takers, do not bother me on my personal phone. I installed my phone for my business, not yours.
