I read with interest to- swat-or-not authorities discuss corporal punishment. I'll tell you from experience, if you raise a hand to your child and hit your child with your hand, he will fear you for the rest of his life. I have great experience from this, I was whipped more than anybody in Southeast Missouri. As I grew older I wanted to whip everybody around me. When you hit your child, it teaches them to lash out, and strike out and hit others, and that is not right.
