Speak Out 3/23/18
I attended the Eastern Ozark Rendezvous today at the Barks Plantation in Glenallen, Missouri. It was as if transported through time and I had to just walk around for a while to adjust. I absolutely loved it and I will most certainly attend next year. Words do not describe the experience though. If you enjoy history and seeing period correct clothing and settings etc., you will not be sorry...
Great fun

Smelter update
For your information about the smelter re-opening. Ameren is not supplying the electricity. Apparently Ameren customers had a rate increase to their bill. They will be paying the loss of revenue since Ameren did not receive the power contract.
Tariffs
I just read that agriculture is on the frontline for retaliation by China for the Trump tariffs. So, Congressman Smith, do you support the Trump tariffs or not?

Rust column
Paraphrasing Jon Rust's claim that Cape County is a utopia of creativity and prosperity surrounded by areas suffering economic and other distress is ominous. To me it seemed a not too subtle warning from Mr. Rust that a barbarians at the gate scenario may be unfolding and that Cape County could be well served by constructing a wall.
Scott City's next mayor?
While going through Scott City, I stopped at Casey's Store. I accidentally left my lights on, on my vehicle. I went inside seeking help. One of the women employees volunteered to come out into the cold to help me with a battery jump from her own vehicle. Being a stranger to her not only did she volunteer to help, she knew how to handle the situation; she hooked up the cables herself and I was soon on my way. Maybe she should run for mayor of Scott City.
Clinton vs. Trump
I remember when CNN was bringing in Talking Heads by car, train and plane to protect and defend President Clinton. Now CNN is bringing in Talking Heads by car, train and plane to vilify and destroy President Trump.
