PP potholes; Neglected airport; Thanks to Bush

PP potholes

I'VE been driving through the same potholes on Route PP near Kelso for the past three years. They started out the size of a pie pan. Now they're the size of a bathtub. If you meet a car you have to pull off the road so only the left tires get knocked out of alignment. Surely with all the yellow trucks and orange cones the Missouri Department of Transportation has strewn up and down the highway, it could put one person on the road to look for potholes.

Neglected airport

ABANDONED? With no cuts in city employees or services, why is it our airport has recently developed a musty, unused, abandoned look with grass growing up between cracks all up and down the runways and taxiways and with weeds growing a foot high all across in front of hangar doorways? It's that sort of well-worn, threadbare, abandoned, broken-windows Cairo look. Why have our mayor and council members stopped caring about the all-important first impressions of our gateway visitors? Or is it we can't afford to cut the grass?

Thanks to Bush

TARP is working, but is not because of President Obama. President Bush is the one who got TARP started. He is the one you should be giving credit to. Obama keeps saying he inherited the worst economy since the Great Depression. I'll tell you what he inherited: America, the greatest country God gave Earth, the ability to make money and create business to make our dreams come true. Quit blaming Bush. This is your economy now, President Obama. Start taking responsibility.
