I hope more than 10 students walk on those new, free sidewalks. Most students ride the bus, or their parents drop them off in front of school. Most students do not want to walk to school. Just remember: Nothing is free. Why do some people think it is OK to walk in the middle of the street like they own it? This is defiance behavior, and parents should teach their children some respect when they are young and expect them to conduct themselves in a civilized manner in all situations as they get older.. ...

I would like to see more Speak Out comments in the paper and less editorials by David Limbaugh and some of the other writers that you put in there. How about a two-inch column from some of the writers and a half a page of Speak Out daily?

Baby pictures

Women of Cape Girardeau, I have a secret I would like to share. I don't address the men, because men already know this. Looking at pictures of babies under the age of 6 months is boring, unless they happen to be related to you. They all look alike. And you are forced to make lots of loud exclamations about how cute they are and try desperately to find something distinctive about them. If anyone wants to know who I am, I'm the sweet little old lady who has spent many, many decades going ooh and ahh over these pictures. But I don't mean it, and I would venture to say that the majority of people don't either. Please put a limit to sharing these pictures of very young children.

Look who's talking

Yes, I was watching TV and I saw Barack Obama ask the Ferguson police department to have transparency. How can they have transparency, when Obama's administration don't have no transparency at all? And he ran on that issue.
