To the Editor:

We, as a School Board, want to express our appreciation to you and your staff for printing the entire reports presented by the Facilities, Programs and Finance Citizens Advisory Committees. We realize that this took a great deal of space in your newspaper but as we continue our Long Range Planning Process for the Cape Girardeau Public Schools, we feel that it has been a true public service for the entire citizenship of Cape to have access to this information. We thank you, at the Southeast Missourian, for providing this news. We appreciate it tremendously and from the feedback we have received, many others appreciated it as well.

We would also like to take this opportunity to publicly thank each and every person who served on these advisory committees. Their level of commitment to time and task was absolutely outstanding. We realize that as a result of the hard work done by these people, this decision-making process has been greatly enhanced.

As we take the findings of the three committees and begin to integrate them together to emerge with a long range plan for the Cape Schools, we welcome the additional input of individual citizens. If anyone has a response to the reports we invite them to write to us, in care of the Board of Education, 61 N. Clark, by Wednesday, July 8, 1992. We will be taking the reports, our correspondence, and any additional data available to us to the Board retreat on July 10, 11 and 12, for consideration.

Again, we thank you for your continued interest in our schools. We also thank you for the opportunity to serve and pledge to you our sincerest desire to make the very best decisions we can for the children of Cape Girardeau.
