I was recently looking through the archives of Fact or Fiction? questions people have written to the Southeast Missourian. The answer to the question about the mysterious Tower Club was quite enlightening to its true nature. I found myself wondering why women aren't allowed in this organization of business professionals. Surely there is at least one woman in the area that has been successful enough in business to qualify for membership. I wonder how many black or Hispanic members there are. It would seem this is a club for rich white men to meet other rich white men. They don't want any women to ruin the fun. God knows women aren't capable of all that fancy thinking. If I get more than 10 feet from my kitchen, I just don't know what to do.
