Put the same ingredients in the cake mix, you get the same cake.
Why run for Congress as an independent candidate? Conventional congressional candidates use a proven system: generate massive campaign funds from lobbyists and others to buy up all the media, promote with a generic message and use local party structure and national party support to win.
Conventional candidates go to Congress owing the party, so they must follow the party line. Lobbyists use campaign contributions for access and beneficial legislation. If your neighbor looks to you for that "thank you" when he pushes your car out of the ditch, imagine what big money contributors expect in return.
I believe the financial trauma our country is now experiencing was a team effort of incumbent congressmen of both the Republican and Democratic parties. We did not want to go to Congress "owing," which is why we are independent and self-financing.
