How long did you battle breast cancer? Five years

What was the hardest part? Telling my boys. I was scared, and didn't want them to notice how scared I was.

I had to trust, and believe God was in control! I was constantly reminded by my sweet, supportive husband to stop thinking the worst, focus on the positive and that we would get through this. I remember he hid my mammogram films because I kept looking at them, over and over again.

What advice would you give to other women? Do monthly self breast exams and get your mammogram.

Men, if you feel something on your chest have it checked out! Men have been diagnosed with cancer in this area.

If anyone reading this is ever diagnosed with breast cancer, please remember you are in control! I feel very blessed to be able to share my story and be there to answer questions.

Also ask questions, ask for help, let people help, and maybe one day you will look at this journey as I do, a true blessing.
