Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heimburger of Cape Girardeau recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.

Bob and Jeannette were married Sept. 19, 1942, in St. Louis. A month later he joined the Navy and left to serve four years during World War II.

They founded and owned Crestwood Plumbing Co. in St. Louis before selling it to their employees, who still operate the business today. They formed R.H. Heimburger Inc. and built homes in Jefferson County, Mo., and later custom homes in Terre Du Lac, Mo. After retiring from the building business, Bob served as district representative for Aid Association for Lutherans in Perry and Cape Girardeau counties. They are members of Hanover Lutheran Church.

The Heimburgers have three children, Robert (Sue) Heimburger of Farmington, Mo., Paul (Judy) Heimburger of Beaver Creek, Colo., and Sherri (Jack) Mehner of Cape Girardeau. They have six grandchildren, Paul and Jeff Heimburger, Jennifer Hoehn, Sarah Haas, Jim and Mark Brickler; and are soon to have their first great-grandson.
