Mr. and Mrs. Harold Wendell Kerr of Cape Girardeau celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last week with family. Kerr and Betty Jean Senter were married Aug. 13, 1950, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Farmington, Mo. The Kerrs moved from Gipsy, Mo., to Albuquerque, N.M., while he served four years in the U.S. Air Force. The couple then made Cape Girardeau its home where he worked for Missouri Department of Transportation 34 years. He retired in 1989 as senior construction inspector...

The Kerrs moved from Gipsy, Mo., to Albuquerque, N.M., while he served four years in the U.S. Air Force. The couple then made Cape Girardeau its home where he worked for Missouri Department of Transportation 34 years. He retired in 1989 as senior construction inspector.

The couple owned and operated Kerr Archery 28 years, and were members of Bootheel Bowhunters Archery Club more than three decades. They were also part owners and operators of Gipsy Bridge Park Campground on Castor River. Since retiring, he has become an avid golfer. Mrs. Kerr has been volunteering her expertise as a seamstress for nearly 20 years at the Lutheran Home.

The Kerrs have two children, Mike Kerr (Wendy) of Las Vegas, Nev., and Renee Shandy (Dan) of Jackson. They have a granddaughter, Chelsea Pedigo of St. Louis.
