Representatives of the Post Office Department were in Cape Girardeau on Wednesday in connection with the proposed new post office building; the men checked possible sites and property options, the same tasks that had brought them here previously.

The transfer of Dr. R.H. Daugherty, for four years pastor of Centenary Methodist Church, was announced yesterday by Bishop John M. Moore, during sessions of the St. Louis Conference; he will become pastor of the church at Moberly, Mo.; his successor at Centenary will be Dr. Don E. Schooler, a young minister of Elk City, Okla.

Sixty-eight people assemble at the Circuit Court room at the Jackson courthouse to hear K.B. Huff, extension agricultural engineer of the state university, explain rural electrification as proposed by the Rural Electrification Administration.

1912

It is reported that a 70-foot passenger motor car will be placed on the Cape Girardeau-Poplar Bluff, Mo., accommodation train that leaves here every afternoon for all suburban stops between this city and Poplar Bluff, returning at 9:30 each morning.

Dr. J.B. Roberts has moved his office from the H.-H. Building to the corner of Good Hope and Sprigg streets, over Hirsch's store.
