The Cape Girardeau County Nursing Service will open its satellite Cape Girardeau office at a new location about Dec. 1; the office will be in the old William R. Schott and Co. building, 1452 N. Kingshighway, according to nurse Charlotte Craig.

Southeast Missouri State University students, responding to a Missourian poll taken on the Iranian crisis and what steps they would take if they were in President Carter's place, give opinions ranging from sending the shah back to Iran to showing military strength.

50 years ago: Nov. 15, 1954

Several thousand people attended the parade and dedication ceremony of the National Guard Armory, held by Company E in Jackson Saturday; Maj. Gen. Albert D. Sheppard, adjutant general of Missouri, was the reviewing officer, and Lt. Col. Leslie J. Jones was in command of the troops.

The city's Traffic Advisory Committee again recommends to the city council that left turn lanes be added to Broadway at traffic lights at Sprigg Street and Pacific Street.

75 years ago: Nov. 15, 1929

Youngsters under 16 years old must stop driving automobiles in Cape Girardeau; anyone under 16 years old who drives an automobile is violating both a city ordinance and a state law.

Sears, Roebuck & Co. is negotiating for a location for a retail store in Cape Girardeau, it is reported; a prominent Broadway corner is said to have figured so far in the negotiations.

100 years ago: Nov. 15, 1904

The city council met last night in regular session, taking up a number of street improvement matters; a petition was presented to the board asking for the opening up of Henderson Avenue from Independence Street to Broadway; the council also passed an ordinance directing that the question of having a general sewer system for the city be submitted to the voters at the spring election.

The steamer Cape Girardeau arrives five hours late; missing stevedores in St. Louis caused the delay.
