Ardanran Andsome of Purston owned by Dr. Alvara Hunt of New Orleans, La.

Caruthersville - Thirty years after efforts were initiated to construct bridge across Mississippi River, long-awaited structure connecting Tennessee and Missouri will be dedicated here Wednesday; expected to be stimulus to economy of communities on both sides of river, bridge directly connects Dyersburg, Tenn., with Caruthersville.

50 years ago: Nov. 28, 1951

Location of new sector of Highway 60 at Charleston will be considered by State Highway Commission at public hearing Dec. 11 at Jefferson City; subject of long controversy, new highway route, as tentatively proposed, would run south of Charleston from point near Bertrand to new Wyatt.

Several cars of Frisco Railroad freight train are derailed between St. Marys and Ste. Genevieve at Reeves in morning, disrupting passenger service between St. Louis and Memphis.

75 years ago: Nov. 28, 1926

Campaign to raises $100,000 to build new Presbyterian church in Cape Girardeau will be opened Tuesday by congregation of First Presbyterian Church; Dr. Ike Swallow of Kansas City, Synodical Superintendent of Home Mission work for church, will be on hand to help launch campaign, during which it is planned to raise fund in two-week intensive drive; congregation will select site for new building after fund raising is completed.

The Rt. Rev. Frederick F. Johnson, bishop of Missouri Diocese of Episcopal Church, conducts confirmation service and delivers sermon at Christ Church, before largest crowd that has ever attended similar service at church; 13 people are confirmed and one infant baptized by bishop.
