A February city council primary election has been assured by the filing of three more council candidates; the three newest council candidates bring the number of those running for one of six councilman positions to 13, with two others vying for the mayoral post; the latest to throw their hats in the ring are Billy J. Keele, W.R. Becker and Dr. Peter D. Hilty.

Law enforcement officers throughout Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois are searching for two bandits who hold up the Olive Branch State Bank at Olive Branch, Ill., 20 miles southeast of Cape Girardeau; the two robbers escape with about $2,000 in currency.
Yesterday morning saw the opening in Cape Girardeau of one of the finest butcher shops in the state; the Meyer brothers opened their new shop on Broadway; the new, three-story brick building that houses the market replaced the old wooden market the brothers inherited three years ago.
The Jackson Military Academy football team yesterday downed a visiting team from Farmington 30-0 in Thanksgiving Day play.
