Changing Broadway back to a two-way street between Pacific and Lorimier streets will be postponed until mid-September because of a delay in the shipping of the new signal lights.

The Jackson Board of Aldermen last night formally approved a resolution calling for improvements along U.S. 61 from near Cape Girardeau to Highway 25 in Jackson; the vote came at the request of a special committee formed to help speed the improvements on the crowded roadway; a copy of the resolution will be sent to the state highway officials and area state representatives.

50 years ago: July 19, 1958

Again revised upward on the basis of continued rains upstream, the stage of the Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau will reach 32.8 feet Tuesday; it is said that this may not be the crest.

Following a four-week tour of Europe as a member of the class of 1960 from the U.S. Air Force Academy at Denver, Cadet Second Class Kenneth H. Biehle will return to the United States tomorrow; Biehle is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert H. Biehle of Biehle, Mo.

75 years ago: July 19, 1933

A frame-and-stucco building to house the office and warehouse of the Airline Oil Co. is being built on the company's grounds on U.S. 61; two tourist cabins have also been built on the site, and six more will be erected.

Establishment of an extensive pottery plant in Cape Girardeau is being planned by Evans Pottery of near Dexter, Mo.; Randol Evans, owner, is in Cape Girardeau with a small plant; his place is on U.S. 61, just south of the Broadway junction.

100 years ago: July 19, 1908

A fair crowd turns out to see the Capaha-Festus baseball game at the fairgrounds; the Caps have so easy a time disposing of the visitors that the game is uninteresting; fans express wonder that the Festus boys have the nerve to call themselves ballplayers; Caps win 6-0.

The A. Kraft bakery at Spanish and Independence streets started up again yesterday with a fine new oven; the bakery had been closed for a long time, having been consolidated with the wholesale bakery in Haarig; when that place closed a few weeks ago, Kraft began remodeling his old plant.
