Mr. and Mrs. Albert Runnels of Jackson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a cruise to the Hawaiian islands. Albert and the former Joan Borgfield were married June 27, 1964, at Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson.

The Runnels have two daughters, Tammy (James) Randol and Renea Runnels. They have three grandchildren, Justin and Ryan Kelley and Megan Taormina.
Albert is a farmer. Joan is a retired elementary teacher from Meadow Heights and Jackson school districts.
They enjoy traveling and have visited all 50 states. The trip to Hawaii was the 50th state on their 50th anniversary.
